Birfday!

Quiet (read: non-pissed Sarah) celebrations last night chez Sufi's as the weather was really not conducive towards a zoo visit. I had lemon cheesecake. Many many huge thanks to those who came along, sent good wishes or made sure I got home safe. Can't wait to start playing with my new toy - hand corker WITH LEVERS so I can get back to properly presenting my meads. New Toy!

Currently, Sarah is tucking into a big box of Milk Tray as I "had to have something to open on your birthday." Went to see The Dark is Rising with the granny, the mammy and the niece Niamh. I think it startled me more than the 7 year old in places, but oh sweet mother of god what a beautifully shot movie! Sarah was particularly impressed with the use of lenses to create the sense of unease at certain points. And now I have to do some serious thinking about cultural references and reading films.

Having delightful weekend. More cake later. Then sleep and work.

Edit: Shiny new toy WITH LEVERS is called a Gilda. Which is one of my favouritest movies evar. (And if you haven't failed at using your not insignificant body weight to force corks into bottles you have no idea how much WITH LEVERS deserves to be shouted. Repeatedly.) And the birthday goodness goes on and on, I'm not back on placement till Tuesday. Hurrah and a half! Crack open another bottle, I've another night of sleep ahead!
