Will be back in Dublin this day week for the whole mature students competition thing. RDS for 2. I'm sure I can drag my lazy ass out of bed and get there on time. Folks are off to somewhere in the midlands for a wedding and have decided to dump Martha at Eva's cos I've had enough of having to play bouncer every time parents go away and last time there was cleaning up of vomit involved.

Anyways... Had a bit of a discussion last night which started off about Dr. Michael Neary and ended up about compensation. Nice natural flow to it really. Problem is, I differ in opinion about the matter of compensation. Throwing money at someone to "make up for" something just isn't on. It's not a solution but has become the preferred form of closure for many. I could go on for far too long about this, different situations yadda yadda, but I guess I just wanted to find out if I'm a freak for feeling the way I do. If it helps, great, but large sums of monetary compensation just being their own problems. Like the alcoholic given a 300k lump sum. I'm not making much sense here, not even to me, I know, and I can't think of a better solution off hand that isn't awkward, but I don't like the handing out of cash because someone's been naughty. It's not the point, in my head.
