Buggrit. Eircom, or someone working on their behalf, are digging up my street. Something about removing telegraph poles from the side of the train tracks. All a good idea, telegraph poles falling onto the tracks or into my garden or onto me is bad. They've hit a water pipe. For the 3rd time. You'd think I'd have been prepared after the last couple of times, but as I wasn't here and no-one told me that this had happened twice before, I don't have any water. Discovered this as I was starting to get the potatoes ready for dinner. Have packed Martha's boyfriend off to Spar to buy bottled water. Buying water! For cooking!

Right, have decided not to refer to myself as a student anymore. I'm an apprentice midwife.

Considering taking tomorrow off. 4 hours of "how to use the library, and here's what the word 'hypothesis' means" class and sicky tummy means wanting to stay in bed and sew but have to request it off. Allowed 5 days off a year before I fail. This is a good thing though, would you want someone shoving hands inside you when they'd not turned up to be told how to do it? At least it's just my research class and some admin that I'm missing. And it's the first day I've taken off. Now just to mail my course co-ordinator and request I not turn up and vomit over classmates. I think they'd prefer I did that, really.

But yeah, to cut out the ick there, I'm now an apprentice. Just with access to a lovely library.
