Wot I dun dis week
Nov. 16th, 2007 01:26 pmLet's ignore for a moment the bus strike and the lack of drivies that meant hoping and praying that my 0700 bus from Drogheda would hit Drumcondra by 0840 (it didn't. More horrendous than usual traffic - I usually get the 0730 bus to be in college for 9) so I could wander out by train to Clonsilla and then spend a happy half an hour walking.
Ah, I didn't ignore that, did I? Oh well.
Apparently I've a very positive outlook, which amuses the hell out of me cos I've always thought of myself as a snarky cow. Some interesting conversations with nurses who are also midwives. "How many deliveries have you done?" "None." "What, in second year you haven't delivered any babies?" "Nope. Not my uterus doing the pushing, why would I take the credit?" Oh, and there were some funny looks when I went on my "hospitals are for sick people, I don't like hospitals" mini-rant. What? They are for sick people!
Last night I slept for 10 hours. Which equalled my hours asleep of the previous three nights combined. Yeah, that's healthy. Tonight I'm going to sew and bake and generally do the stuff I love doing. At home. A place I don't have to spend four hours getting to and from.
James' next week. Looking at sick people/clearing up incontinence stuff. Poop. Er, quite literally.
