Squee the Fourth.
Dec. 13th, 2007 01:31 pmHave been away for three days people, that's all, just three measly days and you all have news. Jaysus. It's all gone in, but not all been processed so if I see anyone and go "huh, you got whatted?" please, no offence, brain is still coming down from dealing with leaky bottoms, kicking doctors and MRSA.
Apparently I'm back up to Dublin tomorrow (yeah, right) to hand in my competency documents for the 6 weeks of placements that I've just done. And passed. With such feedback as to make me blush. Still have film essay to finish and hand in, too. But mostly am on holidays.
Was almost sad to be leaving work yesterday. Which may sound strange given the amount of bitching I've been doing to various lovely lovely people who listen to me when I'm cranky. But I got hugs n kisses from some of the patients. Always knew I wasn't going into this for the money but for the difference I can make to someone's day. This was made especially clear by my cheque arriving the other day. We kinda get paid for external placements, which is yay. A whole twenty one euro a week. Woo. I'll try not to spend it all in the one shop. Don't work out what that is an hour, it hurts to laugh that much. Trust me. But on the whole, we have a rather happy Sarah, especially as Sarah has the house to herself today. Gonna bake and bottle stuff and put uniforms away until April. Six weeks of scrubs after Christmas hols.
And it's Christmas. I put up the decorations on the ward the other day, did some surgery on one of the shepherds from the crib, tried to stop people hanging up golden baubles in pairs or walking around with them at groin level, was used as a temporary tree while trying to detangle the lights and hid the babies Jesus where hopefully people will find them on the 25th. Also, some squeeness was being told to go to the staff Christmas dinner yesterday, which made me feel more appreciated than anything. There's a problem with a three course full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings on a work day, though. "I'm going into the office to, er, do some work on my documents," was a common theme. Crackers! And turkey and ham! And pudding with custard! And a properly laid table! And I'm such a happy Sarah today.
