This morning I awoke to the unnerving noise of my bedroom door being opened. Even after being back at home for nearly as long as I was living in the Hovel it's still somewhat discomforting to have someone enter my room unbidden. What was more unnerving was the fact that it was 0830 and a Saturday and I was on holidays, damnit! By now I'm trained to shout/mumble "I'm awake" even when I'm quite obviously not.

Breakfast for the ravaging horde that is the visiting family was made. Though for reference, making faces at the idea of my oatmeal bread before you've tried it really, not a good idea. Especially when I'm heading out to buy your Christmas present. Also, for the record, oatmeal bread is delish. And super filling and full of fibre-y goodness. Which makes up for the cholesterol raising amounts of butter I've been using on bread lately.

Dublin was the venue for the shopping, needed to get out of Drogheda for a bit and Dublin has opportunities for mischief. Not that any was had, but had I felt like it, I coulda. The last Saturday before Christmas is something I still fear from my past life in retail. Gotta say though, town wasn't anywhere near as busy as I expected it to be. Five hours of shopping and I didn't want to kick a single person out of my way. Singing to myself as I wandered around may have cleared a path, I admit. All bar one of the presents are now bought and will soon be wrapped and under the tree.

Arrived home to a perfectly cooked steak with onions and CHIPS! courtesy of dad to make me feel better about having my house invaded by the Daily Mail. The offending newspaper had even been sent out to compost by the time I got in. They won't let me do the same to those who read it. Off to bed now, content, sleepy, full of tasty steak.
