Randomness
Mar. 4th, 2008 08:49 pmOh feic it, it's not like I need to justify my daily posts.
Fun in sociology the other day. I answered only in Buffy quotes. Someone said something about midwives having a 6th sense at being able to see when someone's run down. Pointed out that no, that'd be one of the five. Went on from there.
Have taken to sitting on the floor in lectures. I'm far more comfortable sitting cross-legged than I am sitting on chairs and floor is the only way to do it comfortably. This occasionally amuses me when people start looking round for the apparently disembodied voice that's pointing things out. Like the possible link between sleep apnoea/ heavy snoring and PET. I swear I didn't make it up, but couldn't instantly provide references. That annoyed me.
I need to revise my foetal circulation and induction of labour for tomorrow. (Still haven't checked research about nookie as method of inducing labour. Semen's full of prostaglandins, if memory serves.) And that whole blood pressure thing. I haven't taken BP manually in a clinical setting since, er, first year. Plenty of times at home though. I like my toys. Even the non-AA-powered ones. I like those, too, though.
I've started a trend! Go me! Lunchtime naps on the leather sofas. Note to self: make sure Gwyn doesn't have her camera with her tomorrow. I do not look particularly attractive when sprawled out and possibly snoring. Very comfortable sofas, though. I approve of days when there are few nurses around. (1500 of them, 70 of us, sofas comfortably seat about 30. Yeah, lunchtimes are fun!)
Have somehow managed to get through three books in the last two days. Not used to reading things that are bound, there's been an awful lot of midir related articles lately, though probably only around 1000 pages worth. Problem is trying to remember who wrote what about what.
Was going to post all about why I'll be home birthing when I finally get round to popping out a sprog, but that can wait till I'm actually, ya know, preggers. Or have my own home. Both would be helpful. It's not like I've any shortage of homebirth friendly midwives to choose from :) Spent a half hour today musing on who in the class I would and wouldn't want as my midwife. Was fun. For me, you don't need to know about that.
Have calmed down a lot about impending exams, though seem to have simply transferred the fear onto others. Oops.
Have remembered to sleep all this week. And eat, too. And drink. Never would've thought it'd be so hard to remember to do three things.
Oh. We have a birthing chair in our house. I wonder if I'm the only one who knows what it is.
Off now for bath. Then more study till midnight, no later, then sleep. I good girl! Off Thursday, going to finally get round to henna-ing the hair. I've been dyeless for so long I now know what my natural colour is.
