Emma and Niamh had their first sleep over here last night while their parents were off gallivanting at a wedding. Thank the gods that wedding's over. Now, people being happy and married and wanting their friends to share the joyous day, fantastic. People demanding black tie with women not allowed wear certain colours in case they clashed with the bridesmaids is not a massive thing. But demanding no presents other than money and stipulating an amount to donate thus having their guests pay for their wedding, now that's the sort of thing that drives me insane. The hen and stag events were both long weekend away things. Obviously these people were the first ever to get married and theirs is the most important event in the world, ever.
So far only one of my close friends has tied the knot since I knew them. Fabulous wedding, beautiful ceremony, smallish reception but absolutely fantastic day. Fine, ok, you only get to do it once (hopefully) so you want a Big Day for everyone to remember, but I know I'm going to remember yesterday's wedding as the thing that drove me crazy. And I had nothing to do with it!
Now to reclaim my jewellery from Eva and get her to reclaim her children and the world will be a much better place.
Must also remember to ring the hospital and find out when I'm in next week. Handy to know that. Also figure out what the code to the locker room is, otherwise there'll be some naughtiness of going in in uniform and hiding from my CPCs on the way in. Then drag out the uniforms and panic that there's really nothing to let out in the tunics. Having added panels to one tunic for one of the girls for her while she was pregnant I don't want to have to do that for myself, people would ask questions.
