Jul. 17th, 2008 12:42 amI had a picnic, it was pretty much cake based. I'm afraid I moaned a lot about the ankle and slowed people down early on, but once I got walking again it was pretty much ok. Have taken the painkillers down a notch and the worst pain is now in my calf unless I mis-step. Still quite swollen, but range of motion is increasing daily and if 6 months of physiotherapy on the other ankle have taught me anything it's don't bloody well over do it.
Hopefully the pain will be gone enough to get to work next week. If there's even the slightest chance that it's still damaged I will not be working - I've learned some lessons from the broken foot earlier this year! Long term foot health trumps immediate financial gain. When did I get sensible? Unfortunately, both the time I took away from the world and the recent injury means that a lot of the things that I'd planned on for this summer simply won't be happening. Like the proper holiday outside the country. But that's ok. Plans are always fluid. Some more than others. A couple of weekends away within the country will do me. Alone, cos that's the way it goes.
