Sep. 3rd, 2008 12:41 amAh crap. I forgot to watch the second part of Whistleblower, the RTE docudrama about the goings on of one M. Neary in OLOL and the midwife who, well, blew the whistle. Mind you, the only way I was able to get through the first part was by making snarky asides to classmate Wendy. Gah, and I can't watch it on RTEs website. Gah and double gah! Meh, it'll probably be repeated at some point, I'll just have to pay attention to TV listings for a while.
Midwifery nerd Sarah says: "That baby's a year old! No wonder it couldn't get out!" "Uh, one late decel and it's under the scalpel? Aha, that's where I've been going wrong all these years! Hang on, that woman isn't even hooked up to a CTG, where did that foetal heart printout come from? No sign of a FSE either." "You'd be less in pain if you got off the sodding bed, you know." Also, the number of immediately pink and clean babies...
Meeja whore Sarah says: Pretty standard shot-counter-shot, visually very like a soap; no sense of pace - especially not in the emergency sections (I swear I've seen them faster in real life, even when they weren't emergencies); use of music didn't do anything for the mood. Script was well done though and acting acceptable. Make-up was really well done for the classical section scar that I saw. Sets well done, had a real 1980s feel to them (I spent enough time in the old maternity in the 80s to know what it was like, didn't try to copy it but it looked the part.)
And I'm going to stop there. Because if I go on I will not stop. (Not on holidays, annoying change of plan. Means no Cake again. Was meant to be in Cark today. Amn't. *pout*)
