Oct. 3rd, 2008 02:05 amCan't sleep, bah. Still, last day tomorrow for a week cos I'm a bad gurl who doesn't have an elective placement lined up for next week, but have three weeks off over Christmas so will be losing one of them to placement. Ah well. In Dubberlin either Monday or Wednesday next week to get stabbed with metal sticks in the hope of not getting this year's flu and dying, which would be nice. Work wants to stab me with sharp sticks, I'm not gonna say no. So anyone fancy coffee one of those evenings? I've a hankering to see real people.
Week after I'm in the neonatal unit. Lots of very small, very sick babies. It's been a few months since I've seen any babies that were born after 24 weeks gestation but the shock of the size of them doesn't really wear off. Going to have to remind myself a lot that that's the exception. I like chunky babies! Little balls of fat that screech their little heads off are the best and I don't even mind when they widdle on me cos it means that's another thing that's working. Boys are the worst for that though, they can aim even at birth and always know where the student is. Prefer it when they don't come out covered in their own poo, though.
Seeing as I'm awake I might as well mail college about both the nursing and midwifery conf that I wanna go to and the weekend in Edinburgh in January (more midwifery nerdery. With beer.) Oh, and try and find out where the hell I'm meant to be going for mental health placement in a fortnight.
