(no subject)
Jul. 23rd, 2009 10:01 pmThere are small humans clambering all over my front garden. Climbing the railings, poking the sundial "Saaaaraaaaah! What is this? How does it woooooorrrrk?" "It's a sundial. It doesn't work, the gnomen's broken and it's not sunny and it's not aligned properly anyway."
Must poke place I wanna go about elective placement, but can't finalise dates until I get the supplemental exam timetable. Great.
Also, eating raisins in bed means wondering the next day what the brown squishy thing that looks like squished rat droppings is. Ahhhh!
Day one of face science. Decided not to go the subject/control route, instead took photos for comparison after a month of trying this dilute tea tree oil lark. Even dilute it tingles slightly, even more when I got it on my lips by accident. Ouchies. First lesson right there. Currently working on 1:4 tea tree:olive oil and the dirt that came off my face just from cleansing with that! Ewww! This was right after I'd used normal cleanser, n all.
Dad's singing. Martha's debs/grad is next Wednesday and house is being invaded from Monday by Family From Rugby. And the Daily Mail. Ten days they're over for. I'll be using repeat exam as an excuse to not leave my room all that much then. Debs means there are about 30 people expected to descend on the house to see Marfa in a pretty dress and then stay here drinking for hours. So house has to be perfectly clean which is not fun to do when getting onto knees means not being able to get up without screaming.
Leg still causing pain. Significant pain but it's slowly getting better. Walked to the shop today - 1km round trip - and did it in 20 mins, which wasn't as bad as the 30 the other day, even if I did look a bit of a sight practising my breathing techniques for paaaaain relief on the way. Doc gave me script for Difene, which I'd already been taking and was happy that it didn't need to be cleaned out again. Have been occasionally accidentally knocking off the scab, which means more blood loss but only a few ml at a time. Frightens others, but I'm not so bad with estimating blood loss, for obvious reasons. Well covered up with steri-strips now, thanks to my occasional hospital thefts. Er, redistribution of supplies.
Summer of Joy seems to have mutated a bit, but overall life is being good at the minute. Ticking along nicely. And now I have ice-cream with Lindt ginger chocolate and everything is good with the world.
