Paper 2, abnormal and babies
Question 1 (compulsory) Babies. Answer A or B, both 100 marks. One baby will be normal and healthy, the other will have "something abnormal" So I'm going with daily examination of the newborn for normal and intrapartum care of twins. The twins question was answered poorly both times it's been answered. Or jaundice. Ah, forgot that hasn't come up yet. If jaundice, probably how to distinguish between physiological and pathological as part of question.
Questions 2-4 as for Paper 1
Pre-eclampsia. It has to come up. Has to.
Diabetes. Could be any of the three, but most likely care of woman with pre-existing type 1 diabetes. Can feel it in my waters.
Breech.
What came up:
Physiological jaundice.
Hypoglycaemic and hypothermic babbies (did this one, was lovely)
Post partum haemorrhage risk factors and management (lovely, did this one too)
Delay in 1st stage of labour and OP. Didn't do this, despite being Queen of the OP.
Preconceptual and antanatal care of a woman with pre-existing type 1 diabetes.
Well, at least I got diabetes even if my precious pre-eclampsia didn't come up. Everyone seems mostly happy. Confident I've passed, again, so I get chips, again. And whiskey when I get home. Sod the mead, I'm getting rat-arsed!
