Sep. 5th, 2008 09:48 pmDear weather, please be nice tomorrow and don't rain in Drawwda. I don't care about the rest of the year, I'll happily march the miles to and from my buses in weather like today at stupid o'clock if you're just nice tomorrow.
Tomorrow there's a surprise party for a neighbour's kid. She's the third sweetest child in the world (my nieces take the first two spots, especially as I've just had 3 year old Emma singing "always look on the bright side of life" down the phone to me) and has had such a hard time over the last few years between her twin dying and her leukaemia. She's all better now, and to celebrate there's a garden party. A surprise party (thankfully, I couldn't bear the thought of disappointing any child, let alone her) with cakes and balloons and bouncy castles and face painting and OTHER CHILDREN. She's been so isolated for so long because of the treatment, out of school and not even able to stay in the same house as her sisters on occasion when they got sick.
One dry day. That's all I'm asking.
