Sep. 17th, 2008 04:04 pmPleasant evening last night. Simon was in Drogheda for his aunt's funeral and so off to Dublin went I at very short notice for an evening of wine, apples, cake, B5 (well, Crusade in the end, so much much giggling) and chatting. Not exactly the evening I had in mind, but always good to catch up and it's been far far too long. Public transport was on my side today and arrived home an hour and a half after leaving his, which is unprecedented.
Got in, the dog nearly broke a leg running in to greet me. My mother glared at me for still wearing the pink coat (it _is_ somewhat shabby at this stage, I admit) and thrust various catalogues containing coats under my nose. I do not want a new coat, I like my pink one. It's very me. If I must have a new coat I want it to be exactly the same as the pink one. Honestly, I currently own more than 3 times as many jackets, coats and capes as I do trousers. Another coat is not something I need. And I _like_ the pink coat! Even if it is manky.
And now I'm doing housework while waiting for the kids to come down and then try and get the cake out of the knee of my jeans. I'm filthy sometimes. Rarely in the fun way these days, though.
