In much the same way that I never feel Christmassy until the 24th, now Stephen's Day is nearly over (and why when I pronounce it do I call it Stephenses day? Only one Stephen could have been the first martyr after all...) Christmas is ending. This has nothing to do with the sicky tummy I've got from one too many mince pies.

Feel the need to spend. Must avoid pretty shoes/boots. And Lush. I've never done first day of sales before and it'll get me out of the house. Getting cabin fever faster than usual. May need a chaperone tomorrow. Can rarely be trusted with red stickers.

Christmas was lovely though. Watching the kids opening their presents was wonderful, as was not doing the dishes after dinner thanks to Dr. Who. being on at the most perfect of perfect times. And announcing beforehand that I'd been up til 2 preparing for it then spent the day cooking it so there was no bloody way I was washing up after everyone else ate it. After the required "but I don't want to, it's Christmas!" the sisters were reminded of last year's incident involving the setting of the table where my future brother-in-law nearly got stabbed with a fish knife for trying to pass it off as a butter knife. I get frazzled when I'm the only one doing all the work and have had little sleep. The dinner fairies don't do it all. Still, dinner was delicious (if I do say so myself) and the trifle disappeared in record time so I'm more than happy about the whole thing. Especially when I don't have to wash up. Must do that again next year. So, in general, hurrah for Christmas, and hurrah for the sales starting tomorrow.
