If I go to sleep now and wake at 3 I'll probably get enough of my competency document done to not get a thorough bollockin' tomorrow (when it's "due" according to exactly one person.) That could work. (EDIT at 0450: Ha, right. Oops. And what sane person considers this time "late"?)
Today was good, very good. More headaches and BP all over the place and turns out those antibiotics aren't working and it's seemingly impossible for me to grab a doc when I want one for me (proper doc, not baby doc. Baby doc meaning either paed. or junior doc in this case.) Need more abx, thinking amoxicillin might do the trick, the trimethoprin isn't doing anything and I'm fairly certain that on day 6 of antibiotics I shouldn't still have ++ haematuria. Sweet talked the lab into taking my wee away, tomorrow must check the results with Occ Health and then possibly got for pokey pokey sharp sticks as am being threatened with renal function tests.
Am actually going to miss OPD. Before I started the general reaction to this being my only midwifery placement of the year was "poor you." It has a Reputation. A completely unfounded one. Sure, the layout is completely wrong and we need more space and more midwives clinics and lots of other things, but the staff there are great and I'm being given work appropriate for my level of education (in other words, I'm running clinics and taking booking histories and bloods and stuff and not being asked if I know how to take blood pressure.) I get on well with the staff, I work hard, it's what I love. I've been there enough to have passed on attendance, I need a couple of signatures tomorrow to make sure I've officially passed but that's not going to be a problem.
