(no subject)

The Universe sometimes has a very strange sense of humour. I'm being deliberately vague because I'm wanting this particular funny to go away. It's a sort of funny that's really really not funny at the minute, though would have been more welcome if it had come along a month or so ago. But still, enough vagueness. I've been told off for that in the past.

One more week of placement then I'm back in lectures. Can't wait to see classmates again, it's been nearly three months since I've seen some of them because of all my external placements and also because half of them are in a different base hospital. Will be interesting to see if anyone else has plans on leaving. So far we've lost 10 in total. Or around a quarter of the class. It's an indication of how little leeway is given when personal lives rear their heads and demand attention because nearly everyone who has left has done so because there's little room to manoeuvre.

Family were down today for the usual Sunday gathering. It's always wonderful to see the kids, though I could do with less of having my poor foot stomped on. Emma is actually stamping her feet now when she doesn't get her way. This amuses me. Would amuse me more if she didn't stamp on my poor injured foot. Still some pain there but over the counter painkillers are doing the job now and I'm conscious of not taking too many for various reasons.

Other health wise - had to get another Hep B shot because my levels weren't high enough. In fact they were low enough that the lab suggested I get tested to see if I'm Hep B positive. I'm not. I knew that already though. So that's something.

Have a sudden urge for some medicinal whiskey though, which is unlike me. At least, it's unlike me now.
