Jun. 4th, 2008 05:31 pmUm. No pethidine for you, epilepsy lady! No, really. It came up. Again. I giggled. Today's was grand, wrote on the clinical factors that differentiate placenta praevia and abrupto placanta, virus screening in pregnancy and well, epilepsy. Specifically antenatal care of the multiparous woman who has pre-existing epilepsy from when she presents at 12 weeks gestation. Uh, so, no diff'rent than any other woman. (She's done it before, she knows about getting the meds changed and it's too late to throw all the folic acid in the world at her and frankly as she's living with it she's going to know an awful lot more about her epilepsy than I ever will. Huh. So how did I take 8 pages to write that in the exam?)
Head of department was loitering around outside afterwards to see how things went. Pointed out that we'd have quite liked anonymous marking, anonymous marking plz? Scripts will be anonyificated now before heading to be marked. Yay! Then I hid from the rain by giving blood and feeling good about myself for doing it, felt especially good for dragging Niamh along so there was a two for one on midwives' blood today.
Arrived home after battling Bus Eireann to find this message "The folders for your Junior Sophister placement will be ready for collection tomorrow from 11.30am in my office." Hoi! I've not even passed this year yet! Looking forward to finding out where I'm going for the first 6 weeks of next year. If only so I can mentally prepare myself. The exams are getting easier by the day. Tomorrow's ticky box of pharmacology. Friday ticky box of can you pass Junior Cert stats. Yeah.
Now I'm going to soak in the bath and hopefully not catch a cold after getting rained on. No jacket today and wearing mock crocs, silly me. I'm filthy and cold and wet. And going to relax tonight. With beer.
