(no subject)
Oct. 1st, 2008 11:07 pmI don't care if the year is "nearly over" and actually, it's not. There are still three months left people, three. A quarter of the year has yet to pass before we hit 2009. (Unfortunately. Though I'm still looking for kittens and rainbows for this year.) It's still only the first of October and Hallowe'en has yet to pass so please not to be talking to me about Christmas plans or Christmas parties or New Year's plans.
This annoyance may also have been sparked by class Christmas party plans that seem to be involving a spendy meal with swishy dresses. Not that I object too much to that, but it's terribly exclusive - excluding not only those who are broke or have kids they need to get back to or don't live in Dublin but also the other years of the course. My suggestions that we also ask the 1st and 2nd years to come along and also what they'd like to do will most likely be met with deaf ears or eyes, whatever.
Also, mentioning Christmas before my birthday? So not on. Not that I'm implying that celebrating the date of my birth is more important than celebrating Someone Else's, mind.
