Nov. 3rd, 2008 11:58 pmBack from Cork, posterior very unhappy from both 6 hours sitting on buses and a possible norovirus attack. Lovely weekend, as ever. Friday I had my usual end of placement celebratory chips buried at the bottom of a KCs philly steak pitta thing followed by Cake. I'd pretty much forgotten about Hallowe'en but we watched the Fly 2 just to make for giggles. Which set the course for a weekend of movies that I've never seen before, including Clerks and Clerks II while eating way too much tasty stuff. 8 heads in a Duffle Bag was far more fun than I thought it would be, too. I laughed a lot this weekend. Much more than I did last time I was in Cark.
Baked brownies and squidgy cake on Saturday, both from kits. I felt sullied, briefly, then I ate them and nommed quite a bit. Too much cake over the weekend, really. Which is obviously why I got more this morning on the way home.
Couple of visits to B&Q. May have been heard to remark "I'm far too used to paying trade prices for these things, I guess." Honestly though, €9 for 500ml of PVA? Thirty five euro for a pair of bog standard Wellingtons? And what sort of silly shop, especially one that size, thinks that keeping the wooden coving in a separate place to the polystyrene and plaster ones is clever?
Spent more time stroking Spectre than is possibly good for me - cats make me bunged up of sinus and snore more than usual. Read quite a bit, with a Kali on my lap. Even Socks, with whom I have always had a "I'll leave you alone, you don't attack me with flailing claws of doom" relationship came over and head butted me after giving my fingers a good sniff. The pink coat was claimed by all three cats on my arrival, particularly by Kali who drooled on it quite a bit. I think it's time to buy a new coat.
