Nov. 5th, 2008 01:11 amWhile I realise that RTE has less money n stuff than the Beeb does, I'm still feeling a twinge of guilt at enjoying Auntie's coverage of that election over the water. Flicking over to RTE occasionally, it's just not as much fun. Broken linkiness earlier on the RTE website didn't help things, either.
I really don't care what coat Palin wore when she voted, though.
My midwifery nerdery books now outnumber my film wankery ones. Think it's sticking. I've three days of nerdery in college this week at the conf, which I'm looking forward to. Third year, for the third time at third level. Jaysus. The amount I need to know in the next two years is scary, but not as scary as the whole thing was two years ago. Slightly worried that I'm not worried about my neonatal resus, can I really be missing the big scary thing that others seem to have found? Or does a flat baby not scare me as much as it should? Panicking does no-one any good, I'm sure as hell not going to start before I'm faced with a blue baby on my own. Meh.
And utterly unrelated, but has anyone ever got Docs re-soled? In a cobblers, like? The green ones are starting to wear through the soles but the leather's good enough to probably get another two years out of them. Seems a shame to chuck 'em and then have to go through new docs pain again. Being able to walk into a cobblers, remove boots and walk out a short while later wearing re-soled boots would be an advantage.
