Sep. 1st, 2009 01:49 pmI really, really hope I passed third year yesterday. Not least because the results aren't in until after 4th year starts and I don't wanna be told to feck off out of the class after coming back, ya know. Think I passed, though not too sure seeing as I thought I passed the first time. Court of Examiners meets sometime after the 14th of Sept, which is the week we start back. Meantime I'm trying to put it from my mind and think happy thoughts about being a 4th year.
Exam was... fairly nice. Got a nice question on cholestasis (itchiness caused by bile salts building up all over the place, nasty business, can lead to sudden foetal death), twins (again, antenatal care of a woman with twins) and the complications arising from a multiple pregnancy (apparently I was the only one to also write about higher order multiple pregnancies and the reduced gestation which means more chance of a longer stay in the neonatal unit), care of a woman with suspected pulmonary embolism (should have done that one, I know my clotting disorders, I does, why did I not do this one? Ahhh!) and neonatal abstinence syndrome that manifests at 48 hours (probably methadone withdrawal there, at 48 hours, though compounded with possible polydrug use, refer, refer, admit to NICU, Finnegan scoring, did this one nicely because my week in NICU was all NAS babies and it was the parents of an NAS baby that gave me a thank you card cos I'm "brilliant") and transient tachypnoea of the newborn (ehhh, admit, observe, exclude other respiratory illnesses/congenital deformities.)
Coo. Writing that made me realise I do know my stuff, probably enough to pass. Ok, panic passing. Getting back to work on long essay and poking places to take me for a week's placement next week (eep!)
