I'm trying so hard not to think about how the lack of rail services from Drawwda to Dubland over the next few months is going to affect the bus service. So, so hard. I've only got 4 months of Commute o' Doom left (then moving into residence in work cos I'll be staff. Room in town for 50 quid a week, 2 minutes walk across the car park to work? Yes please!)

Three years ago I hadn't a clue what I was letting myself in for. Didn't think I'd have been still commuting at this stage but c'est la vie. It's been a struggle in every sense but has been worth it. AND I've got a trophy for it!

Today is filling out grant application forms both for myself and Martha and then turning bedroom into a little study haven. Cos actually passing 3rd year would be nice. Happier with grades now than I was at the start of the summer, concentration and grades were so affected by losing a member of my household that I shouldn't be disappointed with "just" an overall 2:ii. Can claw that back to a 2:i overall next year, a first seems out of reach requiring an average of 80% on 4th year stuff and no pharmacology to bring me up. Oh well.

The next week is going to be serious study mode and getting back into normal sleep patterns. No fun for the next few months: repeat exam tomorrow week, then straight back into library for many many hours to get work done on long essay. Already have a lot of the social work side of domestic violence covered, then to look at the midwifery/obstetric journals. Still not entirely sure exactly what I want to write about but am leaning more towards support services and structures not only for women but for midwives. May need a proof-reader in a month or so, any volunteers?
