Dec. 13th, 2009 05:44 pmI have had a lovely, lovely day.
I did not want to go to the family Mass thing this morning, not because of not wanting to see family but because it was interrupting valuable sleeping time. But being shattered around 8 or 9 means I will have a good 7-8 hours sleep behind me when it comes to getting up for exam in the morning and at this stage being well rested is probably better for me than reading anything else. Because let's face it, I have all the knowledge. I know this, I do this all the time.
During the Mass I made a new friend. A gorgeous blue eyed little 18 month old girl who had new Dora the Explorer wellies and told me about them, showed them to me, took them off and put them back on again. We said hello and played peekaboo a little. This confused my aunt a little as my family aren't used to seeing me being friendly, they're only used to the recluse who spends all her time faffing about online reading midwifery journals. Course, as we got up to leave I noticed that my new friend's daddy was smiling at me, as if he recognised me. Ah, CousinTrevor, hello, oops.
Tea and bikkits back in the old family home and lots of laughter along with the usual game of "what small human belongs to what cousin." Am by far the oldest unwed unsprogged in the family.
Then on to Harry's in Drogheda. This place is good. Good filling tasty food, lovely atmosphere, ten of us fed two courses + two rounds of half booze/half fizzy good for just over 200 squids and new owners who were so friendly that Martha was convinced I was being hit on. Again, not used to seeing me being friendly. Owner confused the hell out of mum by telling her at the end that he hopes I do well tomorrow. Finals, they're all I'm talking about, even to random (if lovely) strangers.
I'm now back in mynest bedroom, drinking coffee and about to flick over some notes. Tomorrow's the easy one, never thought I'd be saying that about an exam that's covering 3 years of work in 3 hours...
