squeefulfishLovely evening last night chez Liz with mead and conversation and giggling and plan making (apparently I'm moving to Reading, did any of you know that? No, me neither.) and more mead. And suddenly it was 0300 and it was probably bedtime as someone was off to make herself blonde again at 0930.
This batch of mead just refused to clear, the only thing I did differently this time around is adding yeast nutrient, hmm. Even filtering didn't make much difference, normally I hate to filter because it does take out a lot of the sticky warmth of my meads but this batch I'd no choice. Will have to try some Science, I think.
Wandered out to the Colossus of Mammon at Dundrum for a bit because every year or so I forget just how much I dislike that place and think "oh, wouldn't it be nice to do some shopping in Dundrum!" It wasn't. So back into town to treat myself to some midwifery nerdery books. Nothing I really wanted, just got a ?biography of Louise Bourgeois so that'll do. A lot of baking supplies somehow made it home with me, too. I suspect I'll be doing a bit of that over the next while, too.
Still trying to decide what to do about my week off next week, toying with the idea of going away alone somewhere for a couple of nights. We'll see, too tired now to make any decisions. Steak tonight, decide after steak. Nyom!
