Am taking a slight break from typing up Martha's latest essay. How the child can write academic pieces longhand is beyond me. She really does write well, the words flow nicely and her turn of phrase at times delightful, though her atrocious spelling combined with the jargon from her area makes me wonder if I'm actually typing the right words. She's the baby, though, gotta love her.
I love that my sisters are a big part of my life. Myself and Eva used to fight tooth and nail when we were kids (me tooth, her nail.) Martha was always the baby, always protected by her two big sisters due to us being 13 and 10 when she was born. She's a really good kid though, can take her anywhere and she'll slot into conversations happily. She has a scary ability to get someone's life story out of them without them noticing, which will serve her very well in her chosen profession of psych nursing.
Gotta say though, I'm learning lots from doing this for her. Though I do need to teach her some stuff about backing up her statements she's doing a lot better at this stage than I was at a similar stage in my training. My baby sister is nearly halfway through her second year at college! Another three years and she's apparently excluded from jury service, something to do with psych nurses being trained to always see the best in people.
And back to dementia with me.
