In an attempt to pad out my portfolio I'm going back to doing a bunch of HSE online training courses. The "Concepts of IT" one is making me giggle with such gems as "a laptop computer weighs only about ten pounds." It's also one of the annoying ones where you can't just skip to the end, tick the boxes and get your shiny cert. No, you have to listen to the crazy lady talking, because moooltimejia stuff is so much better than just having people read the information, don'tchaknow. We're all doomed, aren't we? Ooh, apparently computers are like cookies. I've probably not been paying that much attention. Ooh again, apparently "data is stored on a floppy disk." Wonder how much this cost them? No, wait, I don't want to know.
Off to Dublin in the morning to visit the patient then scoot over to Blanch for a bit of mental health time with coffee and cake before heading home so I can take over the reins on the nieces so mum can go to sleep and dad can go to Nyavan to collect our little psych nurse. The dog spends the days when she's away alternately moping in the porch waiting for Martha to come home and following me around like a lost puppy. She's stopped humping my leg, which is normally how she shows she loves me. Instead I get company in the nights. Farty old dog company. Come home Martha!
