1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Wipe sick old men’s runny arses. Watch colonoscopies. Empty colostomy bags. Kick a doctor. Squee about being remembered for the work I’d done months previously.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I made one - to eat lunch. Mostly kept to it. Chocolate and coffee counts as lunch, right? I’ll try to improve on that one next year, along with dropping 3 stone. Again. Oh, and kick this broodiness in the head. It’s not funny anymore.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Babies Sarah and Brian are both still doing very well, it would appear. Still being breastfed. Go boobies!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Someone I shared accommodation with for about 9 months.

5. What countries did you visit?
Er, France. Kinda. Briefly. Ok, I was there for one night and I didn't get to see anything bar the hotel. So, none, really.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Can has smoochies? This is starting to look worryingly similar to last year’s one…

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I’d like to say it was the day the twins were born, but I can’t remember what date that was.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Sticky mead, recipe number 4. Nope, can’t have some. Not till next year. All mine. All of it. Oh, and my shiny exam results, too, I guess.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Nothing! For I am brilliant! Or the whole snotty tears thing, maybe and not stopping the thing that was causing the snotty tears. Well, not stopping it earlier.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Norovirus aside, not so much. Have done something to index finger of right hand, too, but it’ll pass. Most things do.
I may have suffered because of the illnesses or injuries of others, though…

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Cake. Seriously. See number 27.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
[livejournal.com profile] natural20. Jesus. Really. Also Jesus, but then it’s His time of year. But really, that [livejournal.com profile] natural20 guy. Wow. Saved me from the 20 past 4 bus to Dublin, never once complained about my moaning or obsessive squeeing and has been brainwashed into my way of thinking regarding childbirth. And got me one of the best birthday presents evar. Oh, and cheered me out of snotty tears more than once. Refused to buy into the idea that I was Worse Than Hitler. What a guy! But ye knew that anyway.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Uh, my own? Worse Than Hitler. *hangs head* But less of that next year.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Commuting. Skool stuff. Boring stuff like that.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Oh gods, it’s still midwifery. I can’t help it. But ya know, I am in love with what I do. Very much so.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Bleh to moosik.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? About the same. Stupidly squeeful.
ii. thinner or fatter? Slightly more rotund, according to my clothes.
iii. richer or poorer? Technically a lot poorer. In that I owe more. Though standard of living hasn't changed much.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Smoochies! So no change there from last year. What? I like smoochies. This is not news.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Snotty tears. *nods vigorously*

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Family stuff, possibly hiding in my room occasionally to get some space from the dozen or so who are descending on my house. Feeding the dozen or so who are descending on my house. With lots and lots of food. And a selection box for breakfast. Christmas Eve is always better, though. Dinner with Dad then up most of the night cooking for the next day. Is brilliant.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
No more than I did in 2006, though my love for some has grown so much this year my heart sometimes feels like it’s going to burst out of my chest. In the good way.

23. How many one-night stands?
Some? I’m only counting one, by my definition. And that was an accident.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
TV? You think I have time for TV? Dr. Who made me cry a bit, more than once. Still rather fond of things like Countdown and deal or no deal.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Still don’t do hate. See, I can be a good Christian sometimes. It’s that Moses guy I’ve a problem with :)

26. What was the best book you read?
Er, books? Um… *scans bookcase* hmm… bother. Apparently I’ve read no new fiction this year. Gods.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Feck that, still bleh to moosik. Instead, I bring you my greatest taste discovery – Iago’s ultimate chocolate cake. So good I travelled from Drogheda to Cork by bus to get some. Seriously.

28. What did you want and get?
Corker! With levers! Corking my meads is no longer a chore but an absolute joy. I’m easily pleased.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Rather enjoyed The Dark is Rising and Stardust. Two for the DVD collection, at any rate. Mind you, given my collection that’s not always a ringing endorsement of a movie.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was joined for cheesecake in Sufi’s by three dear friends.
And it was my 30th.
Tick, tick, tick.

Wanna baby!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More smoochies? Decent sleep cycle, remembering to eat.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
"Can I get it off in less than a minute? Right, I’ll wear it so." No, not for any rude reasons, just I’m lazy about getting changed into uniforms.

34. What kept you sane?
Family. Friends. Cheesecake. Hugs. Same as ever, really.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still don’t fancy anyone I’ve never had any contact with, that would be silly.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Oh I’m really sorry, but it has to be the Work to Rule. Not a strike, not initially. Mary sodding Harney did not endear herself to me this year.

37. Who did you miss?
Still Seany, but not missed as such. Sad he’s out of my life, but because those things move on not exactly pining away here. Hope he’s happy.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Christian and That Cake he introduced me to. CAKE! No, seriously. I may be addicted.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
Always get the young man’s name and phone number.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Oh feck off with the music thing. Jaysus.
