I know you know this, but
Dec. 27th, 2007 06:30 pmIt's still that time of the year.
If you know someone who could use a cup of tea and some company, this is the time to do it. The small things make such a difference to people. Trust me. Even though I know I've complained about what I've had to do on placements in December, I know that what I did was appreciated, that even the wiping of backsides made someone's life just a little bit better for just a little while. What might seem the smallest gesture in the world to you can mean the world to someone else. Chicken soup, a reminder that help is there and how to get it and a bouncy ball did that for two people today.
There are things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy (were I to have one) that I've seen and helped with damage control afterwards. Chances are you know someone who could use a cup of tea and a chat. Even just a quick text to someone you haven't heard from in a while. It can make a huge difference to someone's day, sometimes even to their life. What can seem smallest gesture can be worth more than the most extravagant gift.
Be nice to each other, 'k? Not just because of the time of year, but because it's a good thing to do.
